Whipped Cream & Other Delights
40th Anniversary Release
Herb Alpert and The Tijuana Brass

Herb Alpert's "Whipped Cream & Other Delights" is getting a 40th-anniversary release! Its the album that brought Alpert and his Tijuana Brass to the top of the music charts.

In the mid 60's, Alpert and TJB had three albums on Billboard's year-end Top Five, as well as several singles that made the Top 40 hit parade. At one point during 1966, the group had five albums in the Top 20 at the same time.

Their hot streak began with "Whipped Cream & Other Delights," with its legendary naughty cover (featuring Dolores Erickson), and hits like, "A Taste of Honey" and "Whipped Cream." It was released in 1965 and stayed at number one for eight weeks. It was on the charts for almost three years.

Other TJB hits included, "Going Places," "What Now My love," "The Lonely Bull," and "S.R.O.," just to name a few.

It all started with the musical flare of Herb Alpert, a 31 year old trumpeter and A&M label co-owner, whose records were full of finger-snapping instrumentals that had a somewhat Latin sound called "Ameriachi."
