The National Energy Policy Act and Alternative Enery
Congress has passed the National Energy Policy Act of 2005.
Tenessee U.S. Congressman Zack Wamp has heralded its ability
to grow United States energy-technology or "Entech" industries
by providing the energy sector a roadmap that helps ensure
the reliability and affordability of energy for all Americans.
Congressman Wamp told a news conference, "Specifically, we
will see the commercialization of clean coal, biomass and
ethanol technologies, significant investments in new electricity
systems, enhanced energy efficiency standards and the effective
reliability of our electricity grids."

The final bill includes tax incentives for energy
efficiency, renewable energy and energy conservation programs.
It also funds the President's hydrogen initiative and creates
tax incentives for alternative fuels.
