To be honest, this is something that NEEDS to be said: So far, I've seen many "one scene" reporters and meteorologists scratching their heads in wonder...AND its not at Hurricane Katrina!

The ignorance of SOME people actually amazes me. Keep in mind, I was a news reporter for over 30 years, so I've pretty much "seen it all," particularly when it comes to hurricanes.

I have, sadly, watched various media channels' coverage of Category 5 Hurricane Katrina. I'm not sad because of what they're doing, overall they're doing a darned fine job, compared to the days we couldn't do "live coverage" via satellite.

What saddens me is I've seen video of evacuation routes gridlocked, literally thousands upon thousands of people attempting to cram into the Superdome in New Orleans, as they have NO place else to go, as mandatory evacuation has been ordered...THEN...I hear another reporter (via his cell phone) covering Bourbon Street, where the partiers are picking up as much steam as the storm bearing down on their silly lives.

The FOX News Reporter asked a very simple question: "Why are you STILL here?" The reply: "None of you f***ing business."

Emergency personnel and, yes, the media, are risking their lives on this one. Yet, some people are completely oblivious to catastophic danger that could befall them, as a result of one of the most powerful stoms to ever make landfall in the U.S.

As of this writing, the coast is already taking hits from the outer portions of Hurricane Katrina, as well as many tornado statements being issued, inland, for several areas.
