Hurricane Katrina has been one of the most devastating
hurricanes in America's history, leaving in her path,
mass casualties and extensive damage. As of this writing,
the numbers are still unknown, but are expected to reach
catastophic proprtions.
Unfortunately, there was a lack of immediate reponse by federal
and state officials to this horrific disater along the Gulf
of Mexico. Local authorities were hampered by the sheer
magnitude of Katrina's aftermath.
Fortunately, relief efforts continue, as donations continue
to a wide range of organizations and charities that
have come forth to supply assistance to the ravaged areas and
evacuees. These valiant efforts, however, are still not
enough!
