As Hurrican Katrina continues to confuse meteorologists, either Mississippi or southeast Louisiana could be her next target. The storm is expected to become a Category 4 hurricane, turning west. Although computer models reportedly indicate Katrina moving away from the Florida panhandle, the National Hurricane Center has cautioned Katrina could shift course - yet - again.

Category 4 hurricanes, on the Saffir-Simpson scale, include dangerous sustained winds between 131 and 155 MPH and can create a storm surge of 13 to 18 feet.

Such an intense storm could cause extensive structural damage, as well as severe flooding, as far as 6 miles inland.

Insurers reportedly are estimating that Hurricane Katrina will cause from 600-million dollars to 2-billion dollars in damage.
