Notes on Eye Care and High Blood Pressure.

If you have noticed, I have been offline since February. I had to have some eye surgery, as I had gone blind. It was complicated by a few issues: Dangerously high blood pressure, for example, caused a lengthly delay in allowing me to undergo the operation. I'm not going to be a "health nut" on you, but listen up! Take care of your eyes! Get regular eye exams, even if you don't think you need eyeglasses. The expense is well worth it...Not only in general eye health care, but believe me, you do NOT want to end up with even poor or no eyesight. If you already have eye problems: DO NOT put off having any small change in your vision evaluated.

On the issue of high blood pressure, as I now have to take medication for this: Exercise, lose weight. and watch your diet. DO NOT sit on your ass in front of your computer or television, drinking beers or sodas, and consuming large quantities of "junk food." This can lead to hypertension, a very serious issue, in more ways than one. Check your blood pressure often, even if you "think" you don't have an issue with it. You can either purchase a BP cuff with digital read-out, or many pharmacies have the "sit down" stations readily available.

OK, I am off my rant. Please heed my warnings. I sat in blindness and was literally helpless. Due to the Grace of God and the expertise of qualified medical professionals, I am back a work, here. It will be slow going, so bear with me.
