Ronald Reagan's Funeral
I have put off writing anything about Ronald Reagan's death until now. If you're a regular reader, you'll recall I made an entry when he turned 93, earlier this year. You can read it
by clicking here. It sums up just how I felt
about the man. I believe, he was one of the last "Great American Statesmen."
Above is a screen grab from CBS News. Its from when Reagan's casket arrived at the Capitol Rotunda. Note the riderless horse, bearing Reagan's own riding boots.
I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank CBS Senior Anchor Dan Rather for they way he has handled himself through this affair, and the network, as well. Dan is a true
professional and a model broadcast journalist. As the funeral procession made its way to its destination in Washington, ALL the other networks were "chattering." Dan understood when
to talk and when NOT to talk. He didn't "babble." I cannot say that of other networks' Senior Anchors or reporters.
