Dan Rather Leave CBS Evening News
24 years to the day he took the reigns of the CBS Evening News from Walter Cronkite, Dan Rather will be stepping down.
Rather, 73, will leave the broadcast on March 9, 2005. He will continue to work full time as a correspondent for the network's two "60 Minutes" programs as well as on other assignments.

I'll be really sorry to see him go, he's a native Texan, and added a "Southern Flare," to his hard hitting journalist style with various sidebar comments that always gave me a chuckle.
He delievered the nightly news with a warm, friendly, and personal style.
I've written a brief tribute article here. It
also has a few "Dan Ratherisms" from his 2004 presidetial Election Coverage.
