Emeril Lagasse Kicks it Up a Notch Today

Happy Birthday to one of my favorite Chefs: Emeril Lagasse.

Emeril is the chef-proprietor of several restaurants, including three in New Orleans, two in Las Vegas, and two in Orlando. He's been recognized with several outstanding awards.

Emeril joined the Food Network in 1993, celebrating his 1000th show in 2001. He hosts both "The Essence of Emeril" and "Emeril Live," as well as several special feature programs.

Emeril is also a best-selling author. In 1993 he published his best-selling cookbook, "Emeril's New New Orleans Cooking," which introduced his creative approach to Creole cuisine. He's written many other cookbooks since then.

In 2000, Emeril started the Emerilware brand of consumer kitchen products, featuring cookware, cutlery, and accessories.
