Give a Fruitcake for the Holidays

Tis the season! I know that many of you think "doorstop" when you think of fruitcake, but you're very wrong.

I love the tasty combination of candied fruit with nuts. They're also particular good when aged with rum.

They make great gifts, and the tins are highly decorative and collectible. Remember to shop a mail-order bakery as early as possible, so your fruitcake will arrive in time to spread some Christmas Cheer!

By the way, I'n not actually sure how fruitcakes became a holiday tradition. I'll try and research that, as well as find you a recipe or two.
