Recipe: Sesame-Ginger Salad Dressing or Marinade

I was "on the run" a few days ago, and picked up a ready-made Asian Salad in the deli section of a major retailer. Upon checking the ingredients, I found it was low in calories and extremely healthy, as far as quantities of sodium and fats.

What actually suprised me about the salad, which was rather tasty, itself, was its dresssing: A sesame-ginger combination. I tried to match it, and here's what I came up with. By the way, I'm NOT going to give you any measurements, just the ingredients, because there's much difference if your making a salad for just yourself, or many people. You'll also have to adjust it to your individual taste, as I use a bunch of garlic and ginger, overall. This is going to be a "personal-type" dressing that's all yours!

Ingredients include:
Olive Oil
Sesame Oil
Rice Vinegar
Dark Soy Sauce
Fresh squeezed Lime Juice
Fresh minced Garlic
Fresh minced Ginger
Sugar

Start by mixing the vinegar and oil, adding the sesame oil, soy sauce, and lime to taste. Mince your garlic cloves and ginger root, mix them into the liquid. Let this stand for about 10 to 15 minutes. Add a bit of sugar for sweetness (again to taste).

That's pretty much it. Now, you're going to have to play around with this, and taste as you're going along, seriously, as this really isn't a simple combination that you can just "throw together."

I think, however, you'll find your results to be quite pleasing. You can also use this as a marinade!
