Grainger County Tomatoes
In the Volunteer State, there's a saying during one season: "Its Football Time in Tennessee," as the UT Vols take to the field. Well, there's another popular saying, as well - NOW - "Its Grainger County Tomato Season!"
Grainger county tomatoes are actually known across American, due their unique taste and quality. These vine ripe tomatoes are very
special.

Simple Cornbread Muffins
I got into a serious cornbread discussion with a friend of mine, who insisted that you must add sugar to the recipe. For good ol' Southern-style cornbread muffins, I have a very basic
recipe with a few simple ingredients (no sugar, LOL). You can use a muffin tin, or just bake the cornbread in your favorite cast iron skillet. Read MY recipe HERE!

The Cookware Challenge
I recently aquired a new electric range, so I thought I'd treat myself to some new cookware.
As an experiment, I purchased some inexpensive pieces and some rather costly ones, just to cmpare.
I realize it doesn't take a real genius to figure this out, but the more expensive stuff fairs much better in overall tests I conducted.
If you're purchasing pots, skillets, bakewear, or whatever, I'd advise you spend the extra money on quality. No only does it "hold up" better, construction-wise, but I found it to cook more evenly, as well as clean up easier. If you're like me, and do alot of home cooking, quick cleanup is a must! The so-called non-stick
cookware that you can buy for a few bucks, actually isn't as "non-stick" as you'd think.

Save Money Grocery Shopping for Meat Products
I realize my last entry (and associated article) was about pre-packaged ground beef. I'm going to kind of continue along those lines, meat-wise, so if you're a vegetarian, you might want to skip this, LOL.
There are many ways to save alot of money on meat purchases at your local supermarket. I mean, have you SEEN the skyrocketing prices on not only beef, but pork, and poultry, as well?
Rather than sirloin or ribeyes, I've had to choose much cheaper steak cuts, but they're not all that bad, if you borrow some advice from my latest article.
You're going to need to snag a good cookbook, watch for sales, and learn how to shop and save.

Quick Meal Tip! Pre- Cooked Ground Beef, No Kidding!
We ALL are pressed for time these days, right? We're always looking for ways to save time in preparing meals. I've found another helpful ingredient for quick cooking!
I know its been around for awhile, but I really didn't get around to exploring it until now. You can find it on the shelves of your local super market, too. Its a flat sealed package of fully-cooked ground beef. Its the equivalent of a pound of un-cooked.
There's a lot less hassle to using this in many dishes. I've written a review of this product and even offered a few recipe ideas.
