Life on Mars?

A principal researcher for the Mars Express Planetary Fourier Spectrometer, Professor Vittorio Formisano, has reportedly announced he will release findings that suggest there is life on Mars.

He initially made related comments on Whitley Strieber's "Dreamland," during an interview with science reporter Linda Moulton Howe.

Ammonia survives for a brief period in the Martian atmosphere, so it must be getting replenished. Only active volocanoes and microbes, he says, could be the cause.

Dr. Formisano indicated formaldehyde and benzine molecules also have been detected.
