Independence Day 2004

If you're an American, I hope you're having a safe and happy Independence Day.

As an American, there are two documents I have a high regard for, and I hold both close my heart. One is the Declaration of Independence (which is what July 4th celebrations are all about), the other is our United States Constitution.

Unfortunately, many of this country's leaders, politicians, apparently don't have much respect for either of them.

I also find it rather alarming that most Americans will "roll over," happily giving up freedom and privacy, in the name of safety and convenience. The Patriot Act and "Homeland Security" are excellent examples of this.

You can't trade freedom for safety. I doesn't work that way!
