RFID and Your Privacy

I've never been a fan of those so called "supermarket discount cards." I have this "thing" about invasion of my privacy. The whole card conspiracy matter is even getting spookier, with the introduction of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) devices.

These little electronic "spy" gizmos, emit identifying signals, and are being pitched by major retailers, in an effort to replace bar codes.

The signals could be read by hidden scanners, without consumers' awareness. This would allow marketers, well, and the government, to compile private information about folks.

Not only does this concern privacy issues, but if you think about it, there are chilling ramifications to this technology.
