Wigs and Wig Tips
Some Thoughts to Help You "Look More Natural"
(Particulary Important for Synthetic Wigs)
Please don't wear a dusty or dirty wig. Wash your
wigs regularly. Washing is particularly important if
you do much "clubbing." Wigs will pick up and retain bar
smoke and other foul smells. Many a next day, I've sniffed the
wig I wore and said, "Yuck! What's that awful stink?"
If you can't do it yourself, pay someone to style them.
Taking them out of the box (or off the stand) and shaking them,
just won't do.
If you use a wig cap, remember to smooth out the lumps of
your natural hair, your wig will sit better.
Wear your wig a bit towards the rear of your head, it looks
silly (on a man) if you have your wig positioned too far
forward.
Try to match your natural hair color with your wig, that way
you can pull natural hair through and blend it in, for a more
natural appearance. Note: You can always use a colored hairspray
on you own hair and reasonably match your wig's color.
Don't buy "cheap" wigs, and always make sure they have adjustment
tabs.
By the way, if you are a performer, try to wear a different
wig for each number, it adds to the allure.
